Uninsured drivers

Uninsured drivers put lives at risk. Every week, at least one person is killed by an uninsured driver. Many are linked to other criminal activity. They also push up the cost of insurance for everyone. That’s why we’re always on the lookout for this as part of everyday policing to make our roads safer and fairer for everyone.

We also took part in the national operation ‘Drive Insured’ this November.

During the week-long campaign, our officers took 37 uninsured cars, vans and lorries off the roads. In just a few hours in Nuneaton and Bedworth, we seized 12 uninsured vehicles and reported 15 drivers for driving without insurance.

Many drivers don’t realise they haven’t got the correct cover. Unfortunately, they still face significant financial and legal consequences.
